Rock is renowned for its sailing and also features
in many of Sir John Betjamin's poems, who is buried in the grounds
of St Enodoc Church on the edge of St Enodoc Golf Course. As well
as the St Enodoc Golf Course there is also Roserrow Golf and Country
club which offers not only a golf course but also great recreational
facilities for the whole family.
Water sport facilities are numerous with good launching and mooring
facilities. There are sailing clubs and tuition available for windsurfing
or sailing on either side of the estuary. Both fresh water and salt
water fishing are popular in the surrounding waters and licence's
for salmon, sea trout and brown trout are available and bass, mackerel
and flat fish are plentiful.
The area around the Camel estuary is one of extreme beauty and contrasts
and loved by walkers for generations who follow the Camel Trail which
extends right up to Bodmin Moor. Whether it is wild or peaceful, it
has a magic quality that draws people back time after time.
