On the market for the first time in a generation is Tremaine, 12 Church Hill, a prominent Grade II listed four bedroom detached house located in the very heart of the quaint, sought after and historic picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac.
For our clients, 12 Church Hill has been a much loved family home for over 50 years and the warmth, history and originality of this building is striking. Noteworthy features include original Delabole slate to the roof and front façade, stripped floorboards, beamed ceilings, original fireplaces, windows and woodwork. The property has three ground floor reception rooms including a good size sitting room with Bronpi wood burning stove and a breakfast room with a high ceiling and Charnwood wood burner. The dining room has a beautiful and original parquet wood floor which leads through to the kitchen. This is fitted with a range of wooden fronted cabinets and freestanding appliances including a dishwasher, washing machine, electric cooker and fridge/freezer. The ground floor is complete with a shower room/cloakroom and lovely inviting entrance hall with original solid oak front door.
Moving up to the first floor, the landing is open and bright with all bedrooms leading off. The main bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, a sink and triple aspect windows with a view up and down Church Hill. There are two further double bedrooms, one with a sink and both with ceiling beams. There is a fourth bedroom which has built in storage and constitutes a single room. There is a family bathroom and separate cloakroom whilst the large loft, with hatch and ladder, provides a great storage space.
From the first floor landing, there is a rear door leading out to the terraced gardens which ascend up behind the property. Stepping up here, one is met with an instant view over the village, to the working harbour and out to sea. The elevated tiered levels incorporate a small lawn, greenhouse, retaining stone walls and patio-the perfect spot to enjoy the fantastic outlook on offer. There is also gated access down the side onto Church Hill. Services to the property include mains water, electricity and drainage.
With the harbour only a minute's walk from the property, we recommend a viewing of this historic property and rare opportunity at your earliest convenience.
