Situated in a quiet area of an historic market town is this elegant four bedroom converted townhouse

22 Retreat Court is an elegant four bedroom townhouse, situated within a beautiful Grade II listed former workhouse exuding all the architectural merits and appealing features you would expect to find within a building of this period. Converted in 2002, this three storey residence has a wonderful ambience, a huge amount of natural light and some gorgeous features - namely high vaulted ceilings, large rooms, tall arched sash windows, exposed stonework and roof beams and trusses.

Externally, the original building displays attractive granite and stone detailing and beautifully maintained communal gardens and grounds. There are communal parking areas with the property granted two spaces.

Internally, the entrance can be found on the ground floor with a staircase immediately rising to the first floor. All four bedrooms can be found here, three of which are genuine doubles and the master benefitting from a stylish en-suite shower room. The fourth bedroom is a single size room or alternatively can be utilised as a study/office. Head up to the second floor and pause on the half landing to enjoy the view to the church tower perfectly framed by a tall arched sash window.

You can only be impressed by the open vaulted ceilings, beams and trusses of the open plan lounge and kitchen. An array of chunk beams fill the ceiling and head all the way up to a high up loft space with original metal ladder. With American Red Oak underfoot and exposed stonework on the gable end, this L shaped room exudes character. The kitchen has a modern finish with a range of floor and wall cabinets and drawers complete with an integral gas hob, electric cooker, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The lounge has an electric fire with the dining room located separately, a tranquil room to dine. Lastly, there is a cloakroom with newly installed boiler.

This is a leasehold property and benefits from the remainder of a 999 year lease. There is a service charge of £110 per calendar month which includes buildings insurance, external maintenance of the building and upkeep of the communal gardens and grounds. Services to the property include mains water, electricity, gas and drainage.

The locality of Retreat Court allows for peaceful living in an edge of town setting yet is within easy reach of main transport links via the A39 and Newquay Airport which are just minutes away. As such, we at Jackie Stanley highly recommend an internal viewing at the earliest opportunity to fully appreciate the elegant characteristics of this lovely property.
