This gorgeous formal chapel conversion with an abundance of original character is situated in a peaceful location

Situated on the outskirts of St Issey, just a short walk into the village and only a short drive to the picturesque harbour village of Padstow is Providence Chapel. On the market for the first time in 50 years, this former chapel was built in circa 1819 and then converted into a residence in around 1988.

The property is full of traditional features from the original chapel such as parquet flooring, vaulted and beamed ceilings and exposed stonework. Further noteworthy features include a large cast iron wood burning stove on a slate hearth, a large conservatory, a country style kitchen complete with eye level electric oven and grill, a combination of original wooden and UPVC windows and plenty of natural light.

The ground floor comprises of an open plan living space, subtly divided into living and dining areas through the use of furniture. A central staircase rises to the first floor and the kitchen is located just off the dining area through an opening. The conservatory has patio doors from the lounge, a tiled floor, built in bench seating, UPVC double glazed windows and a further set of patio doors to the patio at the rear. There is also a wetroom style shower room complete with WC.

Stairs rise to the first floor, the half landing full of natural light as is the landing. The first bedroom is a spacious and characterful room with a raised tie ceiling and exposed wooden beams, integral wardrobes and a duel aspect making the room naturally light. The second bedroom, again a double, has a built in wardrobe and lovely views across the surrounding countryside. Bedroom three is a single room with an integral wardrobe and Velux window. Lastly, there is a family bathroom with a paneled bath, WC and wash hand basin inset within a vanity unit.

Outside and to the rear, there is an enclosed courtyard patio with plenty of space for a table and chairs. A winding path leads through established shrub borders to an enchanting private lawned garden complete with mature shrubs and a garden shed. To the front of the property is a paved parking area with space for one car. Please note there is a legal right of way across the neighbouring property to access the courtyard from the parking area. Services to the property includes mains electricity, water and drainage.

The beautiful Cornish village of St Issey sits between the picturesque fishing harbour of Padstow and the thriving market town of Wadebridge. The village is home to the very popular 17th Century Ring O'Bells Inn which has a fantastic reputation for good food and a welcoming atmosphere. Other amenities include a church, village hall and primary school. Walks down to the Camel Trail and the Saints Way are easily accessible and the golden sandy beaches of the North Cornish coast are just a short drive away. If you like a beautiful country walk then Padstow is within walking distance from the property via the country lanes, public footpaths and Camel trail, which takes under an hour.

The historic and picturesque fishing town of Padstow is just three miles distant and offers an extensive range of cafes, public houses and restaurants, none more so than Paul Ainsworth's Michelin starred No.6, cool seafood bar Prawn On The Lawn and of course Rick Steins esteemed Seafood restaurant. Wadebridge is a thriving market town on the river Camel, which offers a fine selection of shops and amenities including a sports centre, cinema, a primary and secondary school and a selection of supermarkets. The nearest mainline station is Bodmin Parkway which is approximately 15 miles distant as is the nearest airport at Newquay.

Turn left at the signpost to Wadebridge and St Issey and follow the A389 down through Little Petherick and out the other side. Enter St Issey and then turn right opposite the Ring O'Bells Inn.
