This stylishly & comprehensively refurbished picture box perfect two bedroom detached cottage with landscaped garden

Transformed by a sensitive and comprehensive refurbishment programme by the current vendor, Tansy Cottage is a detached two bedroom picture box perfect cottage set in the picturesque rural hamlet of Talskiddy, just two miles north of St Columb. The property's rural setting allows for peaceful living yet is within easy reach of main transport links via the A39 which is just minutes away.

Modernised and presented with a sense of style and panache throughout, this gorgeous cottage retains the character and charm you would expect from a property of this age with its thick cobb walls, beamed ceilings and original fireplace with cloam oven. An internal viewing really is highly recommended at the earliest opportunity to fully appreciate the sheer quality of this delightful property.

Features of note include an Esse cast iron wood burning stove complete with hot plate and single oven, a beautifully fitted kitchen with quartz worktops and instant boiling hot tap, underfloor heating, recessed ceiling speakers, oversized tiled flooring with WIFI controlled underfloor heating and UPVC double glazed windows. The kitchen has an eye level slide and hide Neff electric oven and ceramic induction hob with downdraft extraction whilst the utility room has the all important wine chiller and integrated white goods. There is also a useful ground floor cloakroom. There are handy slate window seats within the main open plan space, wood paneling and even a Bioethanol fire in the lounge.

Up on the first floor, both double bedrooms have recessed wardrobes/storage space, USB sockets and an abundance of natural light with front aspect windows and window seats overlooking the pretty garden. The family bathroom is sumptuous in its design and specification. Crisp white sanitary ware, herringbone tiled flooring with underfloor heating, traditional stainless steel fittings and even a freestanding roll top bath with claw feet make this tranquil space what it is. The large walk-in shower enclosure with rainwater head above completes the luxurious feel.

The south west facing garden is especially appealing, fully enclosed, beautifully landscaped and a real suntrap. A bonded resin path divides the garden in two, leaving a pretty raised lawn on one side interspersed with small specimen trees. To the other side, a raised patio perfect for al fresco dining or a glass of wine in the evening as the sun goes down. There is some external dry storage either side of the cottage whilst the piste de la resistance is the separate off road parking for two vehicles, graveled and within the freehold title located adjacent to the private entrance. Services to the property include mains water and electricity with a septic tank drainage system.

The quiet rural hamlet of Talskiddy is a hidden gem, lying inland within 9 miles of the historic and picturesque fishing village of Padstow and less than two miles from the old market town of St Columb. Padstow offers an extensive range of cafes, public houses and restaurants, none more so than Paul Ainsworth's Michelin starred No.6 and of course Rick Steins esteemed Seafood restaurant. St Columb is an historic old market town offering a comprehensive range of amenities including banks, public houses, a butchers, convenience stores and St Columb Primary School which is recognised as an outstanding academy school. The market town of Wadebridge is just 8 miles away and provides an extensive range of independent retailers and several supermarkets. The cottage is a great base from which to explore the surrounding coastline and within easy motoring distance are the beautiful beaches of Mawgan Porth, Harlyn Bay, Trevone Bay, Constantine Bay and Treyarnon all offering access to the south west coast path. The nearest mainline station is Bodmin Parkway which is approximately 19 miles distant with the nearest airport at Newquay just 6 miles away with internal and international flights.
